Kelsey Una is a 21 year old artist from St John's Newfoundland. At a young age she found herself straying away from the norm of toys and TV, and often wandered about in cliffs and trees creating elaborate stories with anything her hands could gather. This strategy later translated to pencils on paper as her passion for drawing soon took over her hobbies. After years of self practice with shading and facial features, she finally got the courage to paint. Practice continued, and in conjunction with a handful of persistent friends, oil became her medium of choice. Kelsey often experiments with other media to open her eyes to new ways of creating life.

Whether it be the beauty of hues and contrast on a face,the stitching together of material to create an emotion, or just capturing a beautiful moment in time with a photo, the expression of feeling is the main purpose for Kelsey Una's artwork. The emotions of the pieces are their own - it's a mystery to most viewers and she likes it that way. Interpretation is the meaning of art, and being able to create your own makes it all the more interesting.
